will likely return to purchase more. However, in the case of service delivery, factors can change somewhat. Because service is not as tangible
as a product might be, defining operations and customer satisfaction can be somewhat difficult to ascertain. If someone doesnt return to a hotel, for example, the hotel may not know
why. A defective product can be returned. But if service is defective, a company may not be aware of it (unless the customer is inclined to really complain).
In the case of a supermarket or grocery store, for example, a company is certainly delivering a product (food). But food is food; unless the
qualify of the food is so poor that it would prohibit people from shopping at a particular store (in which case, the store probably wouldnt be in existence), there really
is little, if any, difference, between a product offered by a supermarket. The main difference, in such cases, would be competitive differences. Supermarkets that have better management, operations and customer
service, tend to have a stronger competitive advantage. In this paper weve been asked to examine a fictitious, high-profile supermarket in Singapore, a
