films were pretty much the same, and they involved a group of people enthusiastically getting together to put on a play, or musical or some kind of performance before a
group of people. Everyone with stars in their eyes would contribute their time and effort and the shows, of course, would be a success.
This type of thing is entertaining in the film world. Where it is not entertaining is when it is brought into a business community, particularly among entrepreneurs who have
bright ideas. Its happened very often, in fact. Some is particularly good at baking, and is encouraged by her friends to start a bakery. Or another person is good at
manufacturing wooden horses, and hes told by his enthusiastic family that "you oughta sell these!" Or someone else comes up with the idea of a rubber glove that doesnt cause
hands to sweat, and thinks that the market is ready for such a product. None of the above are horrible ideas. But they
are doomed to fail if the people involved dont take a clear, hard-eyed look at what it will take to get that idea to market, and to keep it there.
