presidency. Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstien, two reporters for the Washington Post, stepped into the proverbial beehive when they began to follow serious allegations and leads which led to a
discovery of corruption leading all the way up to All The Presidents Men. The book (All The Presidents Men) is a type of David and Goliath story where the
two daily reporters for the Post, go head to head with some of the most powerful and well connected personalities in Washington, DC. This book, however, is not about Watergate,
but about the investigation by the two reporters that was instrumental in blowing the whistle on many underhanded practices which permeated Capitol Hill all the way up to President Nixon.
At first, it seems as if they have been given another crime assignment: a break in at the Democratic National Headquarters. But, when they discover that Nixons men are
involved in the break-in their investigation turns up slush funds which are traceable to some of the highest officials, such as Attorney General John Mitchell. At first they are more
than a little na?ve in thinking that there will be any cooperation as they pursue this story. Even low-level officials wont talk. Then, they discover that they, themselves, have been
under surveillance. The government does all they can to frustrate the story, sending them erroneous leads which go nowhere. In fact, one night they receive a call from an informant
whom they seem to be ready to write off as just another wild goose chase. However, their curiosity gets the better of them and they agree to meet the informant,
who calls himself Deep Throat, in a parking garage. One has to think that they had second thoughts about the meeting. Here the government knew the type of story they were
