Essay / Research Paper Abstract
The spread of HIV infection and the AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) epidemic has been especially problematic in the countries of the Third World, and health professionals have attempted to determine the correlation between existing efforts towards reducing its spread and positive outcomes for at-risk populations. One of the emerging problems as AIDS and HIV infection continues to spread untreated is the presence of AIDS related dementia, also described as AIDS Dementia Complex, Dementia related to HIV infection, or HIV encephalopathy. This 5 page paper provides an overview of the issue presented and relates it to the current literature. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

correlation between existing efforts towards reducing its spread and positive outcomes for at-risk populations. One of the emerging problems as AIDS and HIV infection continues to spread untreated is
the presence of AIDS related dementia, also described as AIDS Dementia Complex, Dementia related to HIV infection, or HIV encephalopathy. Assessing the complex nature of this disease, the spread
in at-risk populations, and the emerging view of dementia as a problematic development of this condition provides an interesting view of the changing perspectives on HIV infection.
This research study considers the issue of HIV infection and AIDS as it relates to the onset of dementia, including AIDS dementia complex and HIV encephalopathy. This study
outlines existing research and the nature of this non-opportunistic complex as a basis for considering new pharmacological treatments and addressing the needs of undeserved communities throughout the world. Background
Though the United States has made significant efforts to reduce the spread of the HIV virus and have introduced medical improvements for the care of individuals with HIV and AIDS,
the "AIDS epidemic" continues to be problematic in many countries throughout the world. In fact, member countries of the European Union have called for a greater focus on the
spread of AIDS throughout Africa in an attempt to create a better response to what some have called a catastrophic epidemic in that area of the world. As a result,
though, researchers have been successful in developing studies of particular populations that provide a basis for understanding particular conditions, including AIDS related dementia and HIV encephalopathy. Worldwide, the
AIDS epidemic is worse than many could have expected just a decade ago, creating a substantive problem when attempting to assess correlated problems, like AIDS-related dementia. At the end
