Before sitting down to thoroughly think about this essay further, the student also needs to evaluate some of the following, namely with whom else has he been in contact
during his educational years? While its nice to assume that the Catholic school is primarily white, with the growth of multiculturalism, what is the percentage of, say, minority students that
attended school with him? The other question that needs to be considered is whether this Catholic school was a single-gender school or one that included both boys and girls.
Finally, the student needs to also answer the question involving what part of Texas he/she attended school in. Was it an urban area
like Dallas or Houston (one of the upper middle class suburbs there?) Or was in a smaller town? The chances are good that if he was raised near one of
the larger urban areas, this students exposure to "differences" were probably more wide-spread than, say if the student had been raised and taught in the Permian Basin of West Texas
(nothing against the Permian Basin, but it probably isnt quite as diverse as a major Texas city would be). With these answers
