examine Nikes 10-K; the most recent describing the FY ended May 31, 2011. Public companies earning more than $10 million in a given
year are required to file their annual reports via the Form 10-K (Form 10-K, 2012). This filing offers a "comprehensive overview of the companys business and financial condition and includes
audited financial statements" (Form 10-K, 2012). The difference between an annual report and a Form 10-K is that the former tends to disclose summaries and state-of the company reports, whereas
the latter provides more in-depth information about a companys financial condition. In the case of Nike, its annual report contains very basic information, with much of it gussied up in
a colorful, mostly PR format. If were to get a complete understanding of Nike, the 10-K is going to be a better form to study.
The main sections of this particular report include Part I (the business and environment); Part II (the market for securities, management discussion about financial conditions and the
