been working closely with another lawyer on a litigation case, coming in at the same time as this other worker and leaving at the same time. The two share lunch
at the same time too - basically these two workers are mirror images of each other when it comes to the time put to work. But this worker has been
reporting working two to three hours a day more than the student. This is a clear violation of billable hours. Billable hours
are those directly charged to a client - in this case, the hours are charged to the client that is involved in the litigation situation. Ethical rules involved, based
on the ABA models Ironically enough, there is not much in the American Bar Associations Model Rules of Professional Conduct about someone
who pads his/her hours on a billable time sheet. The closest that was come to this particular situation was Rule 1.5 under Client-Lawyer Relationship, which deals with fees. Interestingly enough,
this particular rule isnt so concerned about the fact that a lawyer padding a time sheet is unethical - but rather, that the extra hours might be a misrepresentation to
the client. If, for example, a firm presents an estimate of how much time will be put into a case, the
client assumes that the actual cost wont deviate much from the estimate. But a lawyer adding more hours to the time sheet will deviate from the estimate. In the case
