what beliefs and concerns might be of interest to a person who holds a theistic worldview. Discussion A worldview "consists of a series of assumptions/presuppositions that a person holds about
reality" and affects the way the person who holds that view evaluates reality (Smith, 2005). The person may or may not be aware of the fact that he "filters" everything
through this belief system; some people are more aware of their beliefs than others (Smith, 2005). These beliefs affect everyone, so it follows logically that "the way a person thinks
affects what a person does" (Smith, 2005). Smith says that the term "worldview" refers to any "ideology, philosophy, theology, movement, or religion that provides an overarching approach to understanding God,
the world, and mans relations to God and the world" (2005). He also argues that any worldview should provide a perspective on each of ten disciplines: "theology, philosophy, ethics, biology,
psychology, sociology, law, politics, economics, and history" (Smith, 2005). These ten disciplines among them account for almost all aspects of reality, and provide an "overarching framework within which worldviews can
be evaluated" (Smith, 2005). These ten categories provide a means for a person to answer questions about reality; furthermore, in evaluating these categories, "worldviews can be evaluated for their logic,
explanatory power and coherence" (Smith, 2005). Smith argues in favor of a sort of Occams razor approach to this thinking: a worldview is the "most probable and correct" when it
can provide the best explanations for the world using these disciplines (Smith, 2005). (Occams razor, in short, says that the simplest explanation is usually the best one.) Smith enumerates each
