your own identity in the midst of a system that often seems like its trying to decide upon that identity for you. Think about it: you have school telling you
what to do with most of your time, parents still trying to structure your social life, sometimes churches telling you what morality to subscribe to... with all these influences, it
can be quite difficult to stop and figure out what exactly it is that you want to do with your life. Theres nothing wrong with taking the time to forge
your own identity in adolescence, but the sad thing is that many adolescents dont actually do that. They may reject the influences of school and parents, but rather than listening
to their own voice, they just replace the authority of school and parents with the authority of their peers. Sadly, peer pressure can be responsible for many of the mistakes
and bad decisions that adolescents make every year, some of which cost them their lives. This paper would like to address the topic of how you, as adolescents, can recognize
when youre being tempted to engage in risky behaviors, and decide whether or not those behaviors are really in line with the identity that you actually want to forge for
yourself. Since there are a great many risk-taking behaviors out there, it would be almost impossible to talk about them all, but what we have to say about one
