and explores her spiritually. It is a personal account, and one that is unique, but also one that has been written about many times by others. Spiritual journeys fill the
shelves of bookstores in the twenty-first century. Yet, Andrews does embrace Shamanism as her window to the world as the journey does include a Shaman who leads her to a
place where she can recover her marriage basket for example. At the start of the book, one gets a sense that this marriage basket is important and to the reader,
finding out what that marriage basket is, is rather intriguing. Still, what turns out to be more important is the journey itself and what the author finds out about her
own self in the process. This is a truly enlightening and uplifting book and something that prompts one to explore other paths. In fact, Andrews in her own way does
seem to enhance the nature of the personal journey as Shamanism is something that many in the west are not acquainted with. She also provides additional insights and motivation to
go the route, as it is in her own words, and her own experiences, on which her book is based. While many writers in this genre do the same thing,
Andrews does seem to provide an extra sense of authenticity as dialogue is included to demonstrate her story that is more akin to a novel than a book on spirituality.
