cut the hospitals bottom line nor increase profits. What costs hospitals money? As with any business or organization, staffing is a significant expense as salaries mean taxes and benefits, something
that substantially drains budgets. Not only that but hospitals have to contend with rising cost of supplies. Pharmaceuticals for example are very expensive. The costs in this industry has been
a concern and in fact when it was thought that the nation might need a costly, hard to obtain antibiotic to treat Anthrax, concerns over the patent for that medicine
came into play. The fact that the medication is patented means that the one company that makes the drug can charge virtually what they want. Questions loom large in this
