2004). EasyJet has consistently received awards and accolades for its service, such as being named the best low cost airline in 2993 by Business Traveller Magazine (EasyJet.com, 2004). Ryanair also
added new routes increasing its service offerings (Mann and Murtagh, 2004). At the same time, the popular Seacat ferry service had to discontinue its seasonal Liverpool to Dublin service
(Mann and Murtagh, 2004). Seacat representatives commented they have faced tough competition, including budget airlines increasing its services (Mann and Murtagh, 2004). In an effort to learn why consumers
make the choice they do in terms of using a low-cost airline or the Seacat ferry service, a random sample of passengers on each carrier will be surveyed. EasyJet will
be used for the airline. The following represents a draft of the questionnaire that will be completed by a random sample of passengers on each carrier. Some questions are open-ended;
others ask the passenger to circle a response and still other items ask the passenger to rate the item on a five-point scale. 1. Why do you travel with this
carrier: work/business personal business recreational (please circle each that applies) 2. How often do you use this carrier: ________________ 3. Why do you
