enamored of was none other than Charlton Heston. For my parents perhaps, Charlton Heston will always be remembered as Moses. He did play Moses in The Ten Commandments and in
some way there is an awe attached to the portrayal due to the spiritual nature of the production. Yes, Charlton Heston was well known to many generations who grew up
watching his films, which would make the days a little lighter for the public. We all know he was a great actor. But Charlton Heston was more than an
actor. Not unlike others in his profession, Heston was political. Of course, he was on the right as opposed to his peers who usually found themselves quite left of center.
To be honest, Heston had been a registered Democrat for a number of years (Berkvist, 2008). But his actions stated otherwise. He supported Ronald Reagan (Berkvist, 2008). He was
a staunch believer that people have the right to bear arms. Charlton Heston not only spoke his mind, he would become officially a member of the National Rifle Association. In
1998, he would be elected as president of that organization (Berkvist, 2008). His NRA membership was more than just a hobby. Berkvist (2008) puts it this way: " ...he proved
to be a powerful campaigner against what he saw as the governments attempt to infringe on a constitutional guarantee - the right to bear arms." In his later years, Heston
did deviate much of his life to fighting for the people and supported the Constitution he knew and loved. Heston was not only busy in one organization. Yes, his
