Pollution threatens the worlds environment on all fronts. It arises, of course, from the lifestyle choices that we make as individuals and as a society. This is particularly
true when it comes to our dependence on petroleum products. The emission of wastes products from our consumption of fossil fuel makes acid rain and global warming very real
hazards, the effects of which we are currently experiencing and which will continue to grow in their impact (Bode, 2006). These, however, are not the only forms of pollution
we are struggling with. In fact, additional effects of fossil fuel dependence are even more straightforward. The ecological complexity of natural areas which have been mined for their
fossil fuels is no more. Mining does irreparable damages to the worlds critical ecosystem. While the pollution resulting from our dependence on fossil fuels is just one example
of the many types of pollution that is out there, to combat such problems we must approach them in a direct and methodical way. The remainder of this paper will
encourage just that. The first step that must be taken in the remediation of global impacts is the move
