expect all to do well, but rather that all should be shared. It is the theory of communism that is most closely associated with that ideation. At the same time,
today, there are many liberals who spout similar ideologies, or have a "take from the rich" approach, but they do so in such a way that renders the distribution not
quite so socialist. Rather, the rich stay rich, but they are not to remain quite so rich. In other words, the wealthy can maintain their wealth, but they do so
in such a way that the excess becomes redistributed so that those who are in poverty can climb the ladder of influence, at least a little bit. A redistribution
as described might mean that a poor family can eat, or watch television or live a normal life that is not plagued with worry. Many wonder how it is that
in a city like New York for instance there can be people living on the street, and in a box, while another lives on the same block in a penthouse
apartment. The distribution plan that is often suggested is one that would simply tax the wealthy a bit more so that others could live comfortably. It would appear to be
a common sense approach, but the idea of welfare is often discouraged in a society that purportedly is a land of opportunity. At least, welfare to most should be a
last resort and not a solution for the poverty problem. Further, on a global basis, giving money away on a consistent basis may not be feasible. Other ideas to eradicate
poverty are more relevant to the conservative camp that simply states people should pick themselves up by their bootstraps and should not rely on others for sustenance. This side suggests
