his methods. Many are not endeared to him due his violent rhetoric, and suggest that Martin Luther King who took up the same cause was much more influential. Yet, Malcolm
X has certainly made a mark on society. Who was this notorious man who was himself killed in a violent manner? Malcolm Little was born in Omaha in 1925 and
his father, Earl, was a civil rights leader himself ("Biography of Malcolm X," 2007). Faced with prejudice throughout his life, Malcolm soon joined the Nation of Islam ("Biography of Malcolm
X," 2007). Things changed after that. He became the official spokesman for the Nation of Islam ("Biography of Malcolm X," 2007). He would terminate relations with the organization, start his
own group, and made a pilgrimage to Mecca ("Biography of Malcolm X," 2007). Malcolm X was assassinated by three men in 1965, while at a speaking engagement ("Biography of Malcolm
