any other measure which would indicate weight loss. Realistic goals are important because if goals are too stringent, a client may give up. Someone embarking on a weight loss program
and not sure how to come up with a goal may consult a physician or rely on weight loss average charts which are widely available. Diet is important in reaching
weight loss goals. No matter what diet one chooses, an obvious point is that a client wanting to lose weight must cut calories or increase movement to burn more calories.
It is also prudent for anyone planning a weight loss project to consult with a primary care physician. This way, if there are any contraindications to a diet or exercise
program, it will be discussed. For example, juvenile diabetics must regulate their every meal and exercise routine so that they will give themselves the correct amount of insulin. Even if
someone is reasonably healthy, it pays to consult a doctor. For an individual who has gained weight suddenly, an underlying medical condition such as hypothyroidism might be present. The identification
of medical problems may help in the weight loss effort. For a healthy adult, it seems that the food pyramid put out by the Federal government provides a sufficient
