a time when gender roles were incredibly rigid, although there is also indication that women were attempting to find a way out of their rigid roles. In essence, the best
a woman could hope for was to marry someone whose social status was slightly above hers and thus be able to comfortably raise a family and take care of a
home. But, reality was clearly otherwise for many people. The following paper offers a short story, created by this writer, in a tutorial fashion in order to assist the student
with the writing of their own short story that is unique and is reflective of the Victorian Age. A Short Story Based on the Victorian Age "I am
often at a loss for words when it comes to my desire to help the young women I know find some value in their life. I often believe that I
