threatened in these tough economic times. Our company alone has consistently lost several billion dollars over the past few years. The purpose of this document is to suggest
a plan that will help us recover from these losses. This recovery will be dependent on us taking some difficult yet very necessary steps to reduce costs, improve production,
and maximize profit. One of the hardest realities that we must face is that we must close ten of our plants. In addition, we must immediately start to
outsource some of the more cumbersome aspects of our production. These two steps, of course, will be a public relations nightmare. We must be prepared to address the
many community concerns that will arise as a result of these decisions. The most pressing of these concerns, of course, will include what will happen to the long-term employees
that have been faithful to the organization through the years that currently work at the plants that will ultimately be closed. Fortunately, this and many of the other concerns
that will undoubtedly arise from our actions can be addressed with a strategic realignment of employment bases.
The Deciding Committee When as company CEO I was asked by our investors and Board of Directors to pull together a
committee to suggest a means by which our future could be assured, I was at first at a loss as to whom to include on this committee. Because our
