a business makes must be carefully tailored to utilize resources to the maximum efficiency while also advancing the basic strategic aims of the organization towards the fulfillment of long term
goals. Towards this end, many organizations have been retooling their information systems to function as decision support systems, systems which rely upon data and key knowledge in order to calculate
the best possible strategic decisions for an organization in any given context. This paper will explore the development of such systems in the past, as well as into the future.
