cloning of human embryos a possibility should be immediately halted. The reasons for this revolve around the ethics of the practice and the very real possibility of forever changing
life and its interrelationships on Earth. Indeed the issues surrounding cloning are some of the most complex of our time. To be fair in issuing a resounding objection
to cloning, however, these issues must be explored in detail. This is particularly important given that the concept of cloning entails a number of societal considerations.
Some of the societal considerations surrounding the concept of cloning are positive but unfortunately far too many are negative. The concept of cloning
only came to the forefront of public attention approximately thirty years ago. Even the newness of the concept in itself could be considered justification for slowing up the speed
of its development. We as a society must simply be allowed the time to consider all the issues. To understand these considerations, a brief history is in order.
