we will attempt to convince a senator (or other official that there is a need for increased provision within the electronic copyright under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the
way it may be circumvented. The aim of this is to increase the level of protection that electronic media benefit from. There are many instances within the DMCA that
will allow for circumvention, and others that will prevent it where necessary. This need to be readdresses so that there are not knock on effects that harm the development of
technology and the position of the US at the forefront of internet and software technology development. This means that the fair use doctrine needs to be amended to protect misuse.
The rule is that any circumvention of the DMCA expect in these fair use policy, may be seen as a legal breach. Therefore it has to be the fair
use policy that is the aim of any action. There is the allowance for material, which in this medium is not only text but also encryption devices and other electronic
tools, to be copied. The range of purposes that can be cited are wide and include "criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching(including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship or research" (DMCA).
