Personal health and welfare is dependent on a number of factors. Some of these factors are things that you cannot control. Some people are
simply more genetically prone to certain health problems. Other factors, however, are things that we can control. The intent of this paper is to discuss those factors and
propose a personal fitness plan for someone that wants to lose weight, reduce their stress, and generally improve their overall health. Nutrition, of
course, is one of the most important critical factors in good health. Campbell (2006) purports that "nutrition represents the combined activities of countless food substances. The whole is
greater than the sum of its parts" (226). This is true not just from the perspective of the number of calories and essential nutrients that you are consuming but
also in regard to the fact that these elements of nutrition interact with themselves and with the bodys physiology in complex ways. Consider, for example, the importance of calcium
in the body. Practically everyone knows that milk is a calcium rich food. It is common knowledge as well that calcium is important for healthy bone growth but
