environment around one is filled with many things that can inspire, and make one think of some deeper meaning in relationship to the natural element. For example, a painting of
a bird may well hold many meanings, aside from its being a simple painting of a bird. It could inspire the thought of freedom or beauty, science or stillness. With
that in mind the following paper examines the painting of a hypothetical painting that depicts Chaco Canyon in New Mexico. A Painting In thinking about a painting of
Chaco Canyon having some understanding of the location is important. It is a place of ruins that are still a mystery in relationship to who really lived there, and why
they disappeared. There are no graves and yet thousands of people, at any given time, lived in this massive location. As one author notes, "Pueblo descendants say that Chaco was
a special gathering place where many peoples and clans converged to share their ceremonies, traditions, and knowledge. Chaco is central to the origins of several Navajo clans and ceremonies" and
yet it also still stands as confusing for many researchers (NPS). It is believed that the location was merely a gathering place for many people wherein they could trade. But,
one can also understand that it was a place were many different peoples came together, and then disappeared: "From the twelfth to the thirteenth centuries, many of the pueblos in
Chaco Canyon were abandoned" The real cause for the abandonment is unknown (Chaco Canyon). The region is one filled with incredible vistas,
