another. The question that arises from a viewing of mans inhumanity toward man is why some people seem to have the proclivity toward violence while others, clearly capable of the
act, resist committing the act. What is it then, inside of each individual that allows one to resist taking part in such egregious behavior? Personal experience must account for
a great deal of the decision to choose right over wrong. However, one cannot say that it is the way that they were raised, the morals that were instilled by
ones parents. One sees countless examples of people who were a good person who turned around and kills all of his family. Parents can only exhibit and example correct behavior
and hope that the belief systems are passed on to their children, but in the end, unless an individual internalizes these values, they just dont stick. This may be one
reason that allows some to kill and others to resist. Suppose that someone was never taught the sanctity of life, never had that value internalized. This person would find it
easy to kill animals and people. The empathy would just not be there. However, in ones personal experience, ones empathy with all living things, even though they have done harmful
things is greater than the desire to destroy them. Secondly, a person may have the internalized ability to separate a person from his/her choices or actions. For example, a person
gets into a car when they are drunk and as a result causes an accident where ones loved ones are harmed in some way. Does one hate the man for
harming ones loved ones: sure. Does a person wish that the drunk driver had made a better choice: absolutely. But, what one does not do is to hate the person
