their input -- though the employees were well-protected in their jobs. After the merger, many had left, while productivity declined. Scotts method
of dealing with the problem was to threaten the employees, while Edna offered apologies to the employees, acknowledge the wrongdoing in not including employees in the decision-making process and asking
what could be done to "create a company we can all be proud of?" Some of the employees were contemptuous of the comments, while others felt it exciting, being a
