philosophers? Nietzsche for example wrote about slave and master morality. The student uses a metaphor to express that the Iranian government has become a master of morality while the protestors
have become the slaves. The student wonders how the protestors can be released from this slavery. Gandhi is another theorist who is referenced. Gandhi looked at things a bit differently,
but in their ideas about nonviolent protest, Nietzsche and Gandhi were actually on the same page. The student goes on and notes that independent political power is normal and
desirable. Also according to the students observation, the last presidential election was unfair as the result was not acceptable by the people. The student claims that the people protested peacefully
and so the government inadvertently denies that the protestors are slaves by labeling them as lawbreakers. On the surface, it appears that labeling the protesters one way or another does
nothing for their success. The problem is serious because if in fact the change in leadership was really a coup disguised as an election, it means that the people have
little hope to change things peacefully. It should be said that Nietzsche does not see much use for violent action. That said, Nietzsche would find some violence acceptable. Nietzsche
would likely agree with the "just war" concept. At the same time, when it comes to the situation in Iran, should the protesters resort to violence? Again, Nietzsche does not
prefer violence and rather, admires alternative measures. The protesters are engaging in a political protest. The problem is that they are protesting in the context of a corrupt government. Will
