Nuremberg War Trials; also, he lost his family to the Nazis ("Focused on the word: genocide," n.d.). It is believed that he used the word to define something horrific that
should never happen again ("Focused on the word: genocide," n.d.). Yet, genocide does happen in todays world. One case in point is Rwanda. The genocide that takes place in
Rwanda is not something that happened overnight. There is a long history associated with it. Two ethnic groups are found in Rwanda and they are very similar as they have
many of the same traditions and even speak the same language ("Rwanda: How the genocide happened," 2008). The Tutsis however are taller and thinner than the Hutsus and during the
genocide, the Tutsis were thrown into the rivers ("Rwanda: How the genocide happened," 2008). The Hutsus claimed that they just went back to their own land, but they were actually
murdered ("Rwanda: How the genocide happened," 2008). On some level, the genocide in Rwanda is not much different from what happened during the Holocaust. This is because one type
of people were ousted due to physical characteristics and the prejudice that festered as a result of ignorance. At the same time, there are glaring differences because while this is
a mass murder, the two groups had fought each other whereas the Nazis targeted Jews and other ethnic groups due largely to hatred. The Genocide in Rwanda goes back many
