Methodist Hospital Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, has been in operation for over a century, with the underlying belief in the quality of care for their growing South Philadelphia patient
population. This hospital provides a wide range of medical services, but has been noted in recent years for innovations in their diagnostic testing services and in their community-based health
care services (In the News, 2007). The 2007 merger with Jefferson University Hospital led to increased services and a focus on innovation as a part of their technology-based
service orientation. In recent years, increasing technological advancements in the medical field has led to the desire to implement medical technologies in the management of operating room process, and
so this has underscored a directive for change (See Lange-Kuitse and Meadows, 2002; Minear and Sutherland, 2003). The operating room (OR) is based on a team approach and includes
a wide range of professionals and support personnel. The successful operation of the OR is dependent on the integration of services and the capacity to work in concert to
monitor patients, provide services, and monitor outcomes. In addition, support personnel are also required to provide necessary documentation and clean services so that the OR functions. For each
