it would be some time before chemistry would change the way that people looked at their bodies. Today, people take pharmaceuticals for most any malady. If they get a headache
or a cold, they can easily purchase a pill to make them feel better. People with intense pain get shots from the hospital, or even anesthesia, to assure that they
do not feel anything. Of course, there is not a drug for everything. Burn victims, for example, cannot be adequately treated for their pain. Yet, people take pills just to
feel better mentally in the form of antidepressants and sedatives. In looking at a history of medications, one would have to start by going back to ancient times. Again, the
early human beings documented their romp into the forest to obtain medicinal products. After consuming things they found in the wild, people did begin to realize that they could help
their physical or mental suffering to an extent. There is no known date as to when the first time plants were utilized for medicinal purposes, but it is thought that
its origin is tied to the caves of France dated to as early as 25,000 BCE ("History of Medicine," 2007). Since that time, knowledge would be acquired about these drugs
by various tribes and the knowledge base would expand and information would be handed down for generations ("History of Medicine," 2007). Healers or shamans would arise and be well versed
