organ. One might think of it more as an energy source like one thinks of chakras which are aligned with certain positions of the human body. In any event, the
concept of mind is varied to some degree even though everyone knows what it is conceptually. Children are taught about the mind from an early age. One hears expressions such
as "Its all in your mind" or "Mind your own business." Language as it relates to the mind, and the scientific aspects that go along with it, are to some
extent a part of the larger picture of this intangible thing that everyone has. One important characteristic of the mind is that it thinks. Everyone knows what thinking is. To
some extent, thinking is associated with reason or the ability to make judgments about things with which it contacts. However, many questions loom in respect to this issue which is
the mind/body problem and whether or not the mind has to be attached to a body and what the "soul" has to do with anything. The popular theory of mind
to some extent broaches the concept of personhood. There must be a person associated with the mind. What seems to be what defines a person in this lifetime, and
in this day and age, is everything an individual is. That includes their families, their jobs, their names, their character and everything they do. Their sexuality in some way determines
who they are as do their addictions. If a disembodied mind for example was considered a person, how is it that alcoholism--something caused by a vexation of the spirit--is indeed
