of staff as and a need to watch over business units in thirty countries. This is a great deal of data. We will assume that there is a computerised environment
in which this can take place and data can be received from the various units in order to carry out the analysis. This may be by way of an internet
or intranet connection, or may be even by post or courier and the sending of discs, as long as sufficient security measures are in place (Elliott and Elliott, 1998).
The initial task of the department would be for one member of staff to be allocated the task of ensuring that data arrives as required. For example, if we have
thirty companies and want to look at the performance every month then this may be allocated at two companies each working day. If we assume there to be four weeks
in a month and five days a month this will then give us 20 days. Of these 15 could be allocated to checking the ratios. A schedule would need
to be drawn up so that the companies were spread thought the month this may mean data is received once a week for that week and then analysed, with companies
1 - 8 in week one, companies 9 - 16 in week 2, companies 17 - 24 in week 3 and in week four companies 25 - 30. The
