of connection with the universe and ourselves. Through looking at nature and simply sitting quietly we can see many things and gain powerful sensations that often have no words. In
the following paper we present a tutorial examination of a narrative essay concerning a day at the beach. The essay should serve as suggestive while it assists the student with
their own unique perceptions and experiences. A Day at the Beach Despite the fact that she had grown up with the ocean as a part of every weekend,
the ocean and all it possessed never seemed to diminish in power. As a child she had gone to the ocean every weekend, waking to her father cooking bacon and
eggs on a grill and listening to the sea gulls screech. And, as an adult it seemed that these sounds and images were nothing more than a powerful foundation for
the development of a powerful love for the ocean. So, with that in mind, this woman finds herself, after years of living far inland, and far away from the ocean,
getting the opportunity to visit the beach, alone, for a day. She was still five miles away from the ocean, yet the air seemed different. There is an incredible smell
to the ocean and all that banks it that seems to permeate the land for miles inland and as she drove closer she knew the smell as well as she
