that learning is natural to man; we do not need to be told to learn how to walk and talk and the development of spatial skills. The child learns how
to make mistakes and then how not to make mistakes learning for experience and ten making progress (Senge, 1990). When entering school children soon learn how to succeed by getting
the answer right and not making the mistakes, it is a pattern than then becomes the dominant learning paradigm, avoiding mistakes and being judged by results rather than seeing the
environment becoming one that nurtures development of learning and new ideas (Senge, 1990). The pressure is to conform to the norms. The
idea of Senge and the need for an organisation to learn in order to survive and thrive are well known and the basis of his concept pf learning is that
we are gradually taught or learn not to learn. Senge quotes Deming when looking organisations who states that "the prevailing system of management has destroyed out people" (Senge, 1990).
This is seen as starting when children are toddlers and becomes so ingrained with measurements such as the best costume, the best test scores or and by the time
the toddler reaches work they are used to being judged and measured with other measures such as university scores, performance review scores and other measures that meet with management approval
