Ethical code violations can be found in practically every arena of our lives. Business is particularly exemplary for its sometimes flagrant
violations of ethical codes. The field of accounting, for example, stands out as a business arena which by its very nature, is one which allows the possibility of many
areas of indiscretions (Ward, 1996). There are, however, many more arenas in which ethical code violations are quite common. The extent of these violations is actually determined by
the profession itself in many instances. Indeed, not only are ethical codes delineated by many professions, they are enforced both within the profession and outside. There are also
very general codes of ethics which exist independent of any particular professions code of ethics. These simple psychological codes include such considerations as honesty, fairness, individual rights. Interestingly,
the American Psychological Association itself has also issued a set of ethical codes by which its members are expected to abide. The General Principles of these codes include:
"Principle A: Beneficence and Nonmaleficence Principle B: Fidelity and Responsibility Principle C: Integrity Principle D: Justice Principle E: Respect for Peoples Rights
and Dignity" (American Psychological Association, 2003). While the codes contained in the American Psychological Associations Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of
Conduct are specifically targeted toward the psychological community, they have numerous similarities with the ethical codes enacted by other professional groups. Indeed, these codes can be used to identify
