avenues which have never been opened before. The Internet has had a massive effect on the global economy. Small businesses are able to obtain the same worldwide exposure
as are large businesses. Instead of being confined to small geographic areas a business with a little creativity and twenty or thirty dollars a month can create a page
on the world wide web which has the potential to compete side by side with advertising efforts by multi-million dollar corporations. These changes in business practices result in large-scale

than 90 percent of Dells revenue is derived from sales to businesses and various government institutions (Hoovers, 1999). Gateway is the second largest direct PC marketer in the world.
