French Revolution, and finally, the same question is asked in respect to Toussaint Louverture and the Haitian Revolution. First, George Washington was integral to the creation of the United States,
but he was by and large a military leader. He was well liked and would be elected the first president of the United States. He was seen as a symbol
of the American Revolution in part because he was a military leader and in part because he was a politician. He would help to lead the nation into greatness and
it is hard to argue that he was anything but acclaimed as a wonderful military and political leader of the day. Although Washington had some flaws, as do all leaders,
he was overall a person who was seen as wonderful by many. To get an idea of how Washington was viewed at the time, a contemporary prepared a eulogy. Ames
made favorable comments in respect to Washington. The fact that he is known as the Father of the country says a lot about he character of this man who
was a dominating force in the American Revolution. The French Revolution was bloodier, and fought on its own turf. In other words, the American Revolution was about independence but
the French Revolution was effectively an overthrow of the existing government. Marat, one leader of the French Revolution, is seen as a martyr by many. He was not well liked
