So too, however, are the Late Renaissance and the Impressionist periods. The intent of this paper is to review the work of three noted artists, one from each of these periods in art history. It will be demonstrated by this review that these periods are evidenced not by distinct points of separation but rather by gradual transitions in which one period influences the other. The Renaissance was both a period in art history and a social movement. It consumed Europe from the fourteenth through the sixteenth centuries. While most frequently the Renaissance is associated with the changes in art which occurred during this time, the Renaissance was actually a period in which practically every aspect of European life from art to religion would experience a rapid evolution and those changes extend to this very day. In particular, there were tremendous advancements in the arts. This was a time of tremendous religious changes, in particular, and art often reflected those changes. From the Middle Ages to the time of Reformation, religion had been a driving force in philosophy and practically every other aspect of society.
