data requirements is often related to size and type of organization. A unified registration statement, or URS, for example is something that represents an effort to keep all information and
data requirements together ("What is the Unified Registration Statement," 2008). This effort is organized by the National Associate of Attorneys General and the National Association of State Charities Officials and
is under the jurisdiction of the Standardized Reporting Act ("What is the Unified Registration Statement," 2008). While data may in fact be consolidation, it is also the case that different
organizations will engage in different reporting procedures, something that is often aligned with different requirements. It should be noted that different states have different laws as well ("What is the
Unified Registration Statement," 2008). One can begin to see that data reporting will vary based on data requirements which differ from state to state as well as by type of
organization. Different organizations, based on their specific needs, will create a variety of methods of maintaining and collecting data. It should be noted that a good number of organizations
select database software to track operations, and this is done because there are many offerings that do provide a good way of collecting applicable data ("Developing Custom Database Software," 2008).
Innovative organizations do however sometimes find that a commercial package is not suitable as their data requirements are too specific ("Developing Custom Database Software," 2008). One can see that logistics
get into the way of incorporating the collection of data that is required. Larger organizations will likely demand extensive software that is custom designed for their input needs as well
as needs for creating documents for reporting purposes. Aside from the nuts and bolts of collecting data, an important thing regarding collection goes to reporting requirements. Lampkin & Boris
