with an acronym that stands for Crime Scene Investigation. The use of an acronym as a title is somewhat trendy as other shows have also gone that way, such as
UC (Undercover), ER, and Law and Order SVU (Special Victims Unit). The actual themes and subject matter are also similar to other trends that focus on police work and how
intricate detective work really is. Of course, CSI concentrates on the science of police work, and not surprisingly, these crime scene investigators seem to be scientists first, and law enforcement
officers second. Their cases are often unusual which is why they are called in. Their techniques are like no other seen on ordinary police shows as one can view the
lab work, the analysis of blood spatter with string, the ability to match tire tracks to a web site of millions of types, and an uncanny knack of finding the
most outlandish explanations for seeming accidents or simple crimes. CSI demonstrates that the proof of a crime is in the science. Cases vary from week to week. In an
episode known as Stalker, Jan Galloway was obviously fearful when her body was found. It was not the boyfriend who was apparently bothering her, but CSI investigators figured by the
way that the home was locked up, the perpetrator had to have come from inside the home. Thus, they suspected plumbers, cable repair men and so forth. In the end,
