the fine line between good and evil can be crossed. Hamlet and Macbeth are the best and worst of what mankind has to offer. They are both intelligent
and brave, but they are also dangerous. These works have many similarities that need to be considered in order to gain a greater understanding of the plays. First, the
characters of Hamlet and Macbeth have supernatural encounters. After Prince Hamlets father, King Hamlet, has been murdered, the college student returns home and is greeted in Act I, Scene
V, but what he believes to be his fathers ghost. The ghost announces, "I am thy fathers spirit, / Doomd for a certain term to walk the night, /
And for the day confind to fast in fires, / Till the foul crimes done in my days of nature / Are burnt and purgd away. But that I
am forbid / To tell the secrets of my prison house, / I could a tale unfold whose lightest word / Would harrow up thy soul, freeze thy young blood,
/ Make thy two eyes, like stars, start from their spheres, / Thy knotted and combined locks to part, / And each particular hair to stand an end / Like
quills upon the fretful porpentine. / But this eternal blazon must not be / To ears of flesh and blood. List, list, O, list! / If thou didst ever thy
