least it will require a four-year degree, although some companies will accept an Associate in Science degree with a certification. Certification with Novell or Microsoft is preferable and can
oftentimes "substitute for a year of experience" (Parkland 2002, PG). By proving your prowess at technical skills it is useful to have completed the Novell, Microsoft or Cisco requirements testing.
This will prove that one has the necessary analytical skills that it takes to be a network administrator. The more certifications one has the more valuable you look
on your resume. Some of the certifications that are available area as follows: * Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) * Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) * Cisco Certified

functions, all of which are important to the computer users. It is usually necessary for the network administrators to wear a beeper so that they can be reached at
