example, one can see how the rhythm, tone, use of metaphors, similes and imagery work within the structure to project a certain mood, whereas in the forms which would follow,
such as free form (open form), poets such as t.s. eliot would explore similar characteristics, interpreting things from a modern perspective. The sonnet form that Shakespeare utilized in the sixteenth
century (and most notably is called the Shakespearian sonnet form) the basic form and structure is quite rigid. There are generally three quatrains, each of them having a rhyming pattern
of alternating pairs. There is still the shift and return that one sees in the earlier forms of sonnets which occur before and after the third quatrain(Sonnet Form). So, for
example, in Shakespeares sonnet 154, one can see this structure as the end words of the first quatrain have an alternating rhyme. The little Love-god lying once asleep
