in terms of their production, corporate culture - and even their annual reports. In this paper, well compare three well-known auto manufacturers: Daimler, which is headquartered in Germany; Ford Motor
Co., which is based in the United States, and Toyota Motor Corp., a Japanese company. Well find that, though all three companies make the same product, their corporate styles and
mission are anything but similar. In analyzing the annual reports, we find differences from the start; and we can also see
how each report reflects its corporation. While Toyota stresses the drive to innovate new value, Ford contents itself with "What People Want." Daimler, in the meantime, is also fond of
innovation, as it is presenting "Innovation for Sustainable Mobility." Moving on with Daimlers presentation, its interesting to note that the German corporate
culture extends even to its annual reports. In providing insight into "our various activities designed to secure sustainable mobility for the future," the report is divided, very coherently, into seven
sections. These sections consist of an overview, management report, divisions, sustainability, corporate governance, consolidated financial statements, and additional information - which includes a glossary and a financial calendar. CEO Deiter
Zetsche, looking quite dapper and relaxed by a current Mercedes-Benz model, strikes a mainly positive tone in his message, noting that the Mercedes-Benz, Daimler busses and Daimler Financial Services are
doing well, all of which leads to a solid foundation. He does not, however, allude to the economic crisis that is impacting the automotive industry, only to suggest that innovation
