In many instances, for-profit corporations are in their business to do more than earn a profit. These organizations want to "do well, by doing good" - in other words, they
want to make a definite difference in particular societies or environments. This is the case with an organization run by Chris Rodriguez. Nik,
a fresh-from-business-school graduate who is clearly enthusiastic, has been sent to Kava, a Pacific Island far from paradise, which is beset with a variety of man-made, and nature-made, issues. Alex,
Niks mentor, indicates the company for which they both work is on Kava to make a difference and establish a greater presence on the island. Chris believes in giving back
to an island that has given so much to the world. But how can this be done effectively when Kava has so many issues that need to be dealt with?
